Localization: Purchases of U.S. Auto Parts Up 900%
The value of purchases of U.S.-made parts by Japanese automakers in fiscal 1997 (April 1997-March 1998) posted a year-on-year rise of 9.8% to hit $24.95 billion. This figure represents a ten-fold increase over their purchases of $2.49 billion eleven years ago in fiscal 1986.
