At JAMA USA, we are kicking off the new year with the launch of JAMA Insights, where we will take a more in-depth look at the various aspects of Japanese-brand automakers’ deeply-rooted American presence, including their contributions to the U.S. economy, workforce, environment, and society.
JAMA members conduct manufacturing and R&D/design activities across 20 U.S. states, and their cumulative U.S. manufacturing investment alone exceeds $45 billion. Through JAMA Insights, we will examine how the scale and quality of these operations support economic growth and development in numerous American communities.
We will also take a look at the ways in which our members actively engage in the advanced training that auto manufacturing requires today. Japanese-brand automakers encourage continued learning among their employees and also support a multitude of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education initiatives to impart key skills and a love of learning to students of all ages around the U.S.
Furthermore, we will look ahead to the future as we highlight how our members push the boundaries of automotive engineering and design. Japanese-brand automakers are also leaders in next-generation and environmentally-friendly vehicle technologies – as evidenced by the fact that more than 80% of all alternative-powered vehicles on U.S. roads today are made by JAMA member companies.
The history of Japanese-brand automakers in the U.S. is one of growth, innovation, and community engagement. Please join us at JAMA Insights for the stories beyond the data as we explore our members’ impactful contributions to America and their integral role in the U.S. auto industry.
